Kids’ clothing size calculator

You will get an EU size with a range and a fit tip — for example: EU 98, range 92–104.

Kids’ clothing sizing is a headache: every brand runs its own chart. A “50” in one shop and a “50” in another are different garments, and a top that fit perfectly from one label is suddenly tight at the tummy from another. That’s why we size not by an “average age” but by your child’s body: height sets the length, while build and cut decide how it sits around the body.

The golden rule: European kids’ clothing size = your child’s height in centimetres. Everything else is a correction on top.

How to measure your child’s height

Height is the most accurate measure for kids’ sizing — more reliable than age. Measure like this:

  1. Stand the child with their back to the wall, no shoes, heels together.
  2. Head, shoulder blades and heels touch the wall, eyes looking straight ahead.
  3. Place a book or ruler flat on the crown of the head, mark the spot on the wall.
  4. Measure from the floor to the mark — that’s the height in centimetres.
  5. Measure babies lying down: from crown to heels on a flat surface.

Kids’ clothing size chart: EU, US, UK and age

The European size (EU) equals the child’s height in centimetres — simple and unambiguous. Age and US/UK sizes are approximate: children of the same age can differ by 2–3 sizes, so go by height.

Kids’ clothing size FAQ

Which matters more — height or age?

Height. Age is only a rough guide: two three-year-olds can easily differ by two sizes. If you know the height, enter it — the result will be more accurate.

My child is sturdy and clothes are tight at the tummy. What now?

Mark “Sturdy” and “Round tummy” — the calculator sizes up one step for girth without over-lengthening. And if the cut is slim, it suggests a regular or loose one, so the garment isn’t tight at the waist.

I’m buying a gift and the child isn’t around

Go by age and choose “to grow into” in 3 or 6 months — the calculator adds room based on median growth rate. Better a little roomy than too tight.

Why don’t sizes match between brands?

There’s no single standard — every maker cuts to its own patterns. That’s why we start from body measurements, and each item in the shop will have its own size chart for those measurements — we’ll suggest the exact size for it when you pick a product.

What clothing size is a 1-year-old?

Usually EU 80–86: the average height at one is about 75–80 cm, bought with a little room. One-year-olds legitimately differ by a full size — the calculator above works from actual height.

What clothing size is a 2-year-old?

Most often EU 92 (height around 86–92 cm). For a bigger child, or to wear longer, EU 98.

What clothing size is a 3-year-old?

EU 98–104 at an average height of 95–100 cm. From three onwards the spread grows, so age charts miss more often — measuring height is more reliable.
