One Little Pine Straight Mini — Modular Montessori Shelf

Half a metre wide and all at a child’s height: this shelf fits into a small room or a corner of the living room, and the child takes out and puts away their own things. That is the point of a Montessori shelf — not to store toys, but to give access to them.

Why we chose it

• The modules connect to each other: one shelf today, a second one joined to it next year — the system grows with the number of books and toys.
• FSC-certified solid wood, rounded corners and an odour-free finish — 0% VOC oil or water-based paint certified for children’s toys.
• Easy to assemble with clear instructions, and it stands firmly — a shelf a child leans on must not wobble.

How to choose

Three shelves suit books and a few baskets; five are for many toys you want laid out one by one in view. The “natural wood” finish comes uncoated, for your own paint or oil; “clear oil” is a transparent natural oil; “white / clear oil” means white shelves with oiled sides. The shelf is made to order, so check the production time on the product page.
